This video was well-organized and set up with a nice zoom-in style of arc. We began outside the church area, in the parking lot, with background information provided by the youth pastor. It was a tight enough shot, not too much wind to be distracting, clear enough audio and clear enough video. (The video quality could be better, but it seemed to be a quick-turnaround story, so you roll with what you have.) Then we moved in to the students, and then the memorial itself. It was a nice movement. Could have benefited from thoughtful sequencing and a steadier camera that could capture those intense moments more deliberately. Wide-medium-tight is helpful here, but the video's mostly comprised of mediums, which removes a lot of perspective. Clearly, though, it's a tough situation to shoot in, and the reporter handled it relatively well. An interview with a friend or a tighter shot sequence might have been a nice wrap-up, but all in all, a solid job.
