What a range of exceptional photography! The standoff photo alone is prize-worthy. But this entry's breadth and depth, with superior composition and quality in every shot, define star photojournalism. The glimpse of the candidate with his child; the sports action, which not only captures plays but also expressions (note the softball team in the dugout during the play at home, and the impromptu "jazz hands" of the celebrating volleyball players). While the sunglasses shot is fun, technical cheekiness, the vertical flag shot has a natural grace about it. Fine work!
