Honor flight: Good, visual writing. It's one thing to tag along with a group like this; it's another to be able to, through words, capture moments, situations, surroundings.
2: One thing not mentioned in the bomb story: The U.S. called for unconditional surrender that included an end to the monarchy, then accepted conditional surrender that allowed the emperor to remain.
3: Interesting way to approach the Korean memorial, although it seems strange to let one voice insist that the conflict was in reality a war and then continue to use "conflict" in the story. It is, after all, a war memorial, not a conflict memorial.
4: Wonderfully painful andecdote to start this story. Well done.
5: Great biographical sketches.
6: The lead — "Harmon carries thoughts about World War II he'd rather not ... " made this piece. Excellent. The breakout information is also very good.
7-8: A nice way to wrap up, with good voices sprinkled in with description.
