Nice human interest story on budding singer who's keeping her day job, for now. Fairly well shot, with good production values -- I really like the shot near end, of all the kids on stage. What this video lacks is a raison d'etre -- that is, I think it'd be a nice video to accompany a story, since it captures sights and most importantly, sounds (the band). But, it'd never be the kind of video I'd want to watch as a stand-alone. It's just not compelling enough; there's not enough action or excitement there, and I just wouldn't care about the subject enough. I'm making this point because I think we visual journalists need to ask ourselves whether such videos are truly worth spending all that time on, videos that at least in our experience, get 1,000 views or less. -- Judged by Roman Lyskowski, Editor/Photo&Video, The Miami Herald.
