Judges Comments:
This series has the feel and drama of an HBO documentary. The history of border drug cartels is, in itself, a first draft of history. It shows the rise, fall and resurrection of drug lords, gun runners and murderers. Most impressive was the how this newspaper staff demonstrated the bloody consequences of the Gulf Cartel in this country.
