This newspaper did more than hold its own covering one of the biggest news stories of the year. Its staffers quickly got ahead of the pack and discovered a litany of problems that would ultimately bring to light keys reasons for the failure of an oil rig. This staff put on display the lethal combination of faulty engineering, lax regulation and corporate indifference behind the disaster. This paper's business staff showed intelligence and determination in its reporting.
